Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough, nausea And Low Grade Fever
I have had a lingering cough - some mucus expelled after I take a expectorant - for four weeks and two days. I can be fine all day, but start to cough and sniff at bedtime. This morning, I woke up with one eyeball bright red on one side. I do not have conjunctivitis. Now I have a low-grade fever and have felt nausea while coughing. I even threw up mucus. I have not felt this bad for years. Tired, unable to look at light, as well. It feels like someone is trying to pry off the front of my face with a crowbar.
Since you are having cough, nausea associated with fever. You are suggested to get blood tests, sputum & swab tests, imaging tests done. Get clinically examined by an ENT/GP to detect any infection(pharyngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, COPD, etc). If infection is detected you may need antibiotics. Gargle with warm saline water 2-3 times a day. You may take antihistamines at bed time to feel better. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. Take mutivitamin supplements & nutritious home made food to feel better. Take adequate rest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
