Suggest Treatment For Persistent Diarrhea During 36 Weeks Of Pregnancy
I am in the 36th week of pregnancy. I suddenly started having diarrhoea from last two days and surprisingly there s no stool in it, only water. My doc has prescribed metrogyl 400 twice daily and Bifilac capsule twice daily. but my condition has not improved. what to be done now?
You should take an antibiotic course, preferably a combination of ofloxacin and ornidazole, continue Bifilac and add Racecadotril. Take small frequent meals, plenty of water and fluids, ORS solution, foodstuffs like banana, curd and rice. If the situation does not improve, please report to your clinician because you are in a critical stage of pregnancy and may need antibiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
