Suggest Treatment For Persistent Fatigue

I suffer with fatigue and tiredness. I discovered that I react to gluten, wheat, yeast and easing agents. Without these I am a lot better. However, some mornings, After the school run, I am very tired in the eyes and my lungs feel very weak. I sleep for half an hour in order to feel better. When I say my lungs feel weak, it s almost like someone is sat on my chest? I can t describe it properly. Could this be my adrenal gland playing up?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Do not take food that triggers your discomfort. Fatigue & tiredness are commonly symptoms of illness like anemia, thyroid issues, obesity, fibromyalgia, diabetes, heart diseases or problems associated with lifestyle issues like smoking, alcohol or other addictions.

Stress, anxiety and sleep apnea may be the other reasons for fatigue.

Stay away from addictions if any, stress & anxiety. Maintain a low BMI, do regular walking & exercises.

Take food rich in iron, calcium, minerals & folic acid. Take berries, fruits & veggies in plenty. Avoid junk oily food.

Take multivitamin supplements, they are effective. However, you are suggested to get a thorough medical check up done. Get Blood & required imaging tests done. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
