Suggest Treatment For Persistent Fever And Body Pain
Hi. I ve had a fever for 2 and a half days. It was 103 F at one point. I ve been alternating ibuprofen and Tylenol to keep it down. I have body aches and pain in my back and long bones. The skin on my back has a different sensation when touched. I have no headache, rash, respiritory, or gastrointestinal symptoms. Just the aches and fever. Right now is 100.7 and I took 1000mg of Tylenol 6 hours ago. Should I go to Urgent Care or wait one more day?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. It better to go to urgent care. Viral hemorrhagic fevers like dengue can cause low platelet count after 2 days. This can be more dangerous if you take drugs like ibuprofen. So blood routine and platelet count should be done to rule out that. Take more fluids and adequate rest. If recurrent high fever is there it should be measured and recorded graphically to rule out and recognise patterns of fever like typhoid or malaria. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
