Suggest Treatment For Persistent Headache And Nausea
I have had a severe headache for 6 days and it alternates from right to left depending on severity. I have had some nausea and sensitivity to light. I do not have a history of migraines but feel that is what I am experiencing. What distinguishes a migraine?
Hello, Thank you for asking at HCM. I carefully read your question and understand your concern. Migraineheadaches can cause lateral headaches that might be associated with nausea and vomiting and some intolerance to light. Migraine headaches are not expected though to last more than 72 hours. If you are having a continuous headache that exceeds 72 hours this reduces the chances for this headache to be migraine. There are many other causes from the scull to teeth, muscular strain, ets that cause headache. What i would recommend is: 1. make sure you see your doctor, there are many causes of headache and migraine is only one of them and should not go longer than 3 days. 2. meanwhile try to rest as much as you can 3. manage stress in your life; are you overloaded at work and doing over-timing, how is the family and the obligations there. Make sure you find a time for yourself
Hope this is helpful to you an answers to your question
Best regards
Dr Antoneta
