Suggest Treatment For Persistent Headache With Pain In Lower Back And Scrotum

Hi there, My partner suffers from pain in his neck and lower skull which has caused him headaches for the past 2 years. He has seen 2 neurosurgeons, chiropractors, had massages, acupuncture, etc. He has not been able to find a cure. He also, very recently has pain in his scrotum but this pain has also started at the same time as a lower back pain. He has also seen a specialist regarding this pain and had ultrasounds etc. Basically he has tried numerous places and options for both. I am unsure of whether the two pains are related and thought perhaps they could be if he has any issues with his back. Very frustrated and desperately trying to find a reason behind both. Please let me know if you can potentially help or point me in the direction of someone who can.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your partner's problem can be most likely due to radiculopathy (radiating pain caused due to slipped intervertebral discs). A MRI screening of spine will be helpful to find out the exact thing. NSAIDs, Muscle relaxants, Physiotherapy and Physical therapy will be helpful to get relief. If there is any severe nerve compression then decompression surgery is advised also.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nishad B. N., General & Family Physician
