Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I have had a lot of problems in the past few months with heartburn. I was taking Prilosec OTC on and off, but have decided not to take it now. I have had heartburn pretty constantly for the past few days, and eating foods with an alkaline affect on the body have helped, but for the past day or so I have had a tight or crampy feeling at the top of my stomach below my breasts. I have also had chest pain on and off for a few months. How can I make this go away?
Some advices that I can give to you are: -Try PPI medication to low the level of acidity. -Practice proper posture. -Elevate from the waist up. -Mix in a teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of water when you feel the heartburn. -Chew gum to help neutralize the acid. -Stay away from cigarette smoke.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
