Suggest Treatment For Persistent High Blood Pressure

My blood pressure is very high. It was 190/102 I went to the doctor a week ago and I was put on amlodipine 5mg and hydrochlorothiazide 25mg. I have been taken them for one week and completely changed my diet. I stop smoking immediately and I haven t had any alcohol and cut out all salt. My blood pressure is still high and won t come down. Latest reading was 147/110 and 156/105. How long does it take for this medicine to start working fully and should I be concerned that it s not normal now..

4. Quit smoking.
After that you should go for Fasting Lipid Profile. and record your blood pressure regularly. if its still on higher side then start takin Amlodipine 10mg along with Hydrochlorothiazide 25mg.
