Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi sir... my husband is having fever. ...100 degree. ...We went to doctor and she gave taxim and dolo650. ...After intake of medicine...fever slows down for 4 hrs and again fever comes back. Kindly let me know why this is happening? Today is 2nd day of medicine. Doctor gave medicines for 3 days.
1. Kindly give him the medication dolo 650. Mostly fever resides after 3 days and since 100-degree Fahrenheit is not very high you need not worry. So, then you can stop the medication after three days.
2. If the fever does not come under control on the fourth day kindly ask him to take taxim.
3. Usually, the fever will come down. if there is no cough or other symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection associated with this then no need to do any further treatment. if problems still persist then visit the doctor for further investigation.
Since you have not told if there is accompanying headache I would like to suggest that if the fever doesn't come down and is accompanied by severe headache especially behind the eyes then get tested for dengue rapid antigen test.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
