Suggest Treatment For Persistent Hip Pain

Hello, I have a very light pain at the intersection of abdomen and leg on my right side. Just below where I would wear my belt. I first felt it when lifting a suitcase. The feeling has persisted for over four weeks. I feel it from time to time when lifting heavier objects. I am concerned it may be a hernia. I am 56 yr old male. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely the pain you are explaining is muscular pain. On the other hand, it is crucial that you have an ultrasound and rule out hernia as the pain happened while you were lifting a heavy object.
If the ultrasound does not identify hernia than a muscle is likely the cause of the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
