Suggest Treatment For Persistent Jock Itch

Hi I seem to be suffering from jock itch, I've had it over 6 months to a year now,the only thing that helps but dies not cure it is Daktarin intensive.

It stops the itching but if I stop for a week or so it's back with a vengeance.

Is there anything I can take or use in the groom area to cure this condition.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain Jock itch is commonly due to fungal infection while at times moisture accumulation in the area of skin folds in groin can lead to bacterial overgrowth and can cause jock itch..
Daktarin Intensive is an antifungal preparation containing Ketaconazole and can be very well used to treat fungal infection..
I would however suggest you to keep the area clean and dry..
Wash the area with a mild soap and water and pat dry with a clean and sterile towel..
You can apply a combination of antibacterial and antifungal cream in the area of rashes..
You can cover the are with Zinc oxide cream..
Wear cotton undergarments that are of loose fitting..
Avoid vigorous itching of the area as it can further cause pain and infection..
You can also soak a cotton cloth in a solution of 3 parts of water and one part of vinegar and put it over the rashes..
In case of no resolution in a week consult a General pHysician and get evaluated and he can advise you oral medications like antibiotics and antifungals along with topical medications for resolution..
