Suggest Treatment For Persistent Lupus

I have suffered for years with lupus. I didn t that my seizure and blood pressure meds and others could have been making things worse for me. I finally got an appointment with the Lupus Institute of Pittsburgh next month. I wanted to know if there is a list of these kinds of meds available. I have to travel a long way for this Dr. visit and I want to help them to finally maybe help stop the suffering and have some kind of life.

Hi,

I understand your concerns about the treatment of lupus. Lupus is an autoimmune disease and is progressive usually and in some, it regresses.

As you say, it appears to be a progressive disease. I advise my patients to consult an expert Rheumatologist who can handle such patients very well.

As you say about travelling such a long distance for a good doctor for lupus, I would suggest you to ask the consultant doctor to suggest a nearby doctor for regular follow up and consult this main doctor when any change in that nearby doctor, can discuss with him for any small issues, which can help you as a matter of distance. It would help you lessen your journey and time. The condition of your disease is progressing and if I were your physician, I would suggest you be in follow up with a good doctor specialized in treating lupus.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Azhar Hussain,
