Suggest Treatment For Persistent Menstrual Cramps

Hi! So I am having a period crisis. I have the skyla IUD for about 2 years, I got my period on time, and since getting the IUD my period have been lighter. This period started on the 4th (on time), I had some menstrual cramps (as normal), but the only bleeding to happen was some reddish/brown stuff. Now I think I did have a slightly heavier than normal period last month, and I have been in the middle of finals so I have been stressed, but is there anything to worry about?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line of management you can take analgesics like Mefenemic acid for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated. An ultrasound scan is needed for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
