Suggest Treatment For Persistent Migraines

I have never had insurance and I've been having migraines since I was a little girl my parents always thought I was lying so I never was taken to hospital for it and it keeps going on and on... it's at the point where I'll have migraines for weeks straight... sometimes I feel like I'm going to pass out sometimes I puke sometimes I just feel weak. Normally my EYES get really red and my head gets rEally hot But either way almost every single day I have some type of migraine. I don't know what to do... when I went to the er by myself one time they just told me to take headache meds and sent me home...

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. The symptoms like persistent headache along with nausea, vomiting and redness of eyes suggest classical migraine. In most of cases the headache occurs in episodes and in between episodes there occur periods of normalcy. For proper treatment of headache you have to consult a doctor. Medicines like Propranolol can be used to prevent the headache and are very effective in controlling the symptoms of migraine. Amitryptiline, Sodium Valproate etc are used for severe headache. Visit a doctor for help.

Try to avoid coffee and tea as caffeine is one of important trigger for headache. Sleep at least 7 hours in night and avoid remaining awake late in nights. While moving out wear sunglasses and if possible avoid sunlight. Exercise daily help to prevent headache. Yoga especially "SIRSASANA" is found to have excellent results in migraine if done properly.

Thanks, Take care, Hope this helps you.
