General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to GERD (gastro-esophageal reflex) and allergy. So your doctor has given drugs for acid reflux, antihistamine and corticosteroids. A thorough examination and chest x ray should be taken to rule out other problems. Prilosec may not be enough for your acid reflux. I would suggest more potent PPI like rabeprazole along with motility enhanzers like domperidone. Combination of antihistamines like levocetirizine and mast cell stabilizers like monteleukast along with this will be helpful also. Keep atleast 2 hours gap between meals and lying down for sleeping. Keep your head end elevated little more by pillows also while lying down. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
