Suggest Treatment For Persistent Numbness In The Fingers

I have been having numbness in my fingers in both hands when I move my arms over my head or scroll on my computer for about two years now. It seems to be getting worse. It is happening when I shower and I wake up multiple times during the night because of numbness and tingling in both hands. The first three fingers are the ones most affected. Today, I crossed my arms and a horrible knife like pain shot down the length of my thumb and I lost feeling for about 10 seconds. Sometimes, it even feels like something is catching in my wrist when I move certain ways.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Consult a neurologist and get evaluated. Detailed evaluation is required to find out the exact cause. We have to rule out possible causes like peripheral neuropathy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
