Suggest Treatment For Persistent Pain In Foot Post Injury

I fell in July of last year and landed on my feet, the Lt moreso than the right. I tore my ligaments and fractured my calcanus, and compacted the joint that controls my stability in my ankle. My ortho told me that I would have pain in this foot for the rest of my days, but that they could fuse the joint together with screws and the pain would go away. I didn t want surgery and decided to go with what I ve got, but the pain is really getting to me, I am unstable and have poor endurance. I was wondering if gabapentin would help this type of pain, or is there something else that I can take that will help the pain. I have tried motrin and all of the topical rubs without relief

Hello,

As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
