QUESTION: I ve had persistent shoulder pain for 15+ years. What could be the cause/remedy? DEMOGRAPHIC: 46 yr old male. 5 10 , 175 lbs. Moderate high blood pressure (started after pain) treated with Losartan. HISTORY: Pain started around 2000 without any known injury. I ve seen multiple doctors, including spine specialist, chiropractors, two spine surgeons, shoulder surgeon, pain doctor, two sets of PT, multiple medications, including Lyrica, Melaxicam, Hydrocodone, several cervical spine injections, 3 or 4 MRIs over that period of time. I ve tried TENS, ice, heat, yoga, stretching. The only thing that works is hydrocodone or other narcotic drugs. AGGRAVATORS: It s worse when I don t get good sleep, after strenuous work (like raking leaves, bike riding). Any ideas for me? I did have shingles in 1998. The pain is deep down in the muscle, not at the surface, of my shoulder/scapula area.
