Suggest Treatment For Persistent Pain In Stomach, Shoulder And Ribs

Hi there, I have sharp pain under my right rib and my back when I am hungry. As soon as I eat something or drink milk or juice I feel ok. I have very bad habit of eating!! I may eat one big meal a day or sometimes two but I drink TOO MUCH tea! Probably 4-7 times aday or even more. I was like this ever since I was a kid but at least my parents use to not allow me take that much of tea in a day and if I have to drink too much fluid my mom use to say I should drink a lot of milk than taking tea throughout the day. Now I live in Canada for four years and all I am taking all day long is tea. I always skip breakfast not because I want to but I don t feel like eating in the morning and it became a habit for me. In 2013 like two months I was having severe pain under the right rib that spreads through to my back specially shoulder pain. I went to the doctor and I was sent for an x-Ray, chest x-Ray and blood test ( they tested for almost everything) but all turn out to be good except my iron was low. But the pain was still there and sometimes persistent and the doctor said it s probably because I don t eat right do there s too much acid in my stomach and this causes pain when ever I am hungry and I was given medication for the acid and it worked. Now the pain came back even more severe and persistent . My stomach, shoulder under ribs pain and before when I eat it use to go away but now it will not go away but my stomach even hurts after eating. I have to see my doctor this coming Monday. But I was wondering if anyone can give me any suggestion. Thank you

It's clear case of gastric/ duodenal or somewhere around, ulceration in the offing and needs to be tackled on antacid line. But the synthetic antacids of allopathic system will not reverse or heal the formation of ulcer. It will only neutralize the acid. Then there will be side effects.

Here we need to achieve the stage where any lesion is healed and formation of hyperacidity stops.

Yes. I would suggest to my own patients that they should take only Ayurveda's herbal powders. Licorice ( glycirrhiza glabra) powder is antacid, healer and 'pitt' vitiation controller. 1/2 tsp with honey twice to thrice a day is sufficient. May be taken for long. If some vomit comes, no problem. It clears acid.

One more effective and compound herbal combo is Avipattikar choorana. It is bitter in taste. May not be palatable but excellent antacid. To be taken with water or honey 1 tsp 8 hrly is good. May be taken for lengthy periods. Safe. No side effects.

Problem will be to find things in Canada. It's commonly available in India. However one can get on net or through us too.

If ulceration is deep or oesoophagitis taken place or hiatal hernia coming, above powders still work. We may add Drakshavaleh (made of grapes and many other things), calcined pearl shell etc. There is remedy for every stage.

Since these are naturals, action is not visible instant. Slowly and steadily it cures and controls formation of acid. It heals. It clears excessive acid accumulated by vomiting ( sometimes). 'Pitt' vitiation is responsible for headache also. That is also controlled by it. If surgery needed, that may also be reverted.

So my personal recommendation at this stage is Avipattikar chooran, Drakshavaleh, Licorice powder in order of preference and subject to availability. 1st two things or last two things may also be taken together.

Hope it helps you to decide and overcome your problem slowly but for ever. Any other complications, if found, may be communicated for solution. As of now take small qty of cold milk with one cookie or half slice frequently to neutralize acid.

Best wishes.
