That did not help so I started taking meloxicam and made a doctors appointment the doctor put me on prednisone 10 milligram 2 tablets once daily for 10 days. My last dose was yesterday and today I am in more pain than I have been the doctor said it was from overworking my body I m in home caregiver and work long hours I m also redoing my house that he said that it should clear up in 10 days and it has not I have not fallen and 7 months do you know if there could be any other reason for this pain it is to the point where I struggle to lift my patience if there s any advice or help you can give please let me know

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent pain in tailbone, well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like pilonidal sinus , infected cyst , sciatic neuritis or diabetes. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT sca, MRI along with physical examination to check the tenderness and if there is any lump along with nerve conduction test . Doctor may recommend physical therapy along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also refer you to genera;l surgeon for excision of cyst .
