Suggest Treatment For Persistent Pressure On The Head

I have had major head pressure for over a year. It all started after I saw a chiropractor. I have seen 3 neurologists and 2 neurosurgeons. My legs stop working at times, and sometimes when I speak it is as if I am speaking a different language. I have difficulty concentrating and remembering important things in life such as my children s birthdays. All of the blood tests, MRI, and ct scans have all been normal. I have been on several different medications from anti depressants to brain seizure meds and nothing helps. I m at a total loss. Last week they tried to burn nerves in my head to see if that would help but could not find the bad nerve. I have also had several nerve blocks done with no relief. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello,

You have already taken a lot of medicines. All your tests and investigations have come normal. At times, your legs stop working and you seem to forget important events like birthdays, etc. You are suffering from forgetfulness. You are suggested to stay mentally and physically active. Take quality sleep at night. Lack of proper sleep will trigger forgetfulness. Avoid sedentary life, socialize and get more organized. The treatment of forgetfulness depends on the treatment of the cause, if it is due to stress, stress is managed. Forgetfulness due to PTSD can be reversed but if it is due to dementia, blood pressure, blood glucose level, depression, anxiety, stress should be controlled at all cost.

Smoking , alcohol, drugs or addiction if any should be stopped. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get all routine tests and investigations done for a complete medical check up. Since your legs fail to work all of a sudden, get Nerve conduction velocity tests, nerve biopsy, imaging tests done, get treated at the earliest Take food good for the nerves and do exercises under a Physiotherapist. You can also take supplements. Constant pressure in the head can be relieved by taking Naproxen (Aleve), Ibuprofen (Motrin), take adequate quantity of water and fluids.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
