Suggest Treatment For Persistent Productive Cough

My son 56 has worked for the same company for 35 years and he has a chronic cough with muscus. He coughs all the time- at least once evey couple hours. He also gets winded after a short walk. We believe it s due to the pollution from his job. What type of a docter should he see for this problem??

Hi,

As per your query about treatment of persistent productive cough and if you suspect its due to pollution inhalation, it may become a serious disorder like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or any other infectious disease like tuberculosis.

I advise you to consult a pulmonologist for the right treatment. Investigation like x-ray chest with blood and sputum is needed for a proper diagnosis.

I hope the information helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jyoti Pandey
