Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had bleeding from the rectum for months, on and off. Colonoscopy 2 years ago showed internal hemorrhoids. Have always had digestive issues. I am a 43 year old woman. Bleeding occurs with AND without bowel movement. Clots are also passed. I am gluten free, and have been for 2 1/2 years. Much improvement since going gluten free, but still experience some bloating, stomach pain and diarrhea. Started a hydrocortisone suppository 2x/day 2 days ago, and now have oily discharge. The bleeding is quite concerning, as sometimes it pours out (sounds like I m urinating, but it s blood from my rectum). Assuming the oily discharge is from the suppositories? Any advice on how to proceed at this point? I haven t gotten much help from either my gastroenterologist or rectal specialist. Any ideas are much appreciated. Thank you.
Colonoscopy revealed internal hemorrhoids. So it needs to be cured best if it's bleeding. Gluten free diet and medicine will help you but if it not controlled then you should go for surgical correction.
So kindly consult ano rectal surgeon for further guidance. Avoid spicy and junk food.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
