Suggest Treatment For Persistent Severe Anxiety

I am seeing a psychiatrist.. For the last 7 months no one could tell me what is wrong. I googled my symptoms yesterday and it came up with anxiety disorder. I think I have almost every symptom on the list. My psychiatrist wants to do Ketamine treatments. I would try anything to feel normal again and have a life. What is your take on this treatment?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Ketamine works as a dis-associative anesthetic agent and helps to certain extent in anxiety episodes if particular memory episode is concerned with that. But the detailed history, physical examination is far more important than this information; to decide the best molecule suitable to you. In my clinic, I am using SSRI (selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors) and getting best results in anxiety disorders.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
