Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my 15 year old (216#) son and was just diagnosed with sinus infection and 1 every 12 hours for 10 daysconjunctivitis yesterday. He was prescribed Augmentin 875MG tabs twice a day for 14 days. Today I was diagnosed with Acute Bacterial Rhinosinusitis and acute bacterial bronchitis. I am 68 yrs old and weigh 250#s. I was prescribed cefdinir (Omnicef 300 mg oral capsules), 1 by mouth every 12hours for 10 days. Does this make sense to you?
* Persistent sinus infection could be from the sinus blockage, low immunity, recurrent exposure to allergens or else.
* There does not sound co-relation with your prescription.
* There is need of extensive evaluation of the son to find the root cause and treat accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
