Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had this sinus infection....I guess that's what it is for almost two months. I went to the dr. after two weeks of having it. She gave me a steriod shot and amoxycillan. Nothing helped. The only thing that helps is Aleve. My only symtom is .....it severly hurts when I cough or laugh or sneeze......like a really bad brain freeze.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent sinus infection which means you are suffering from condition known as chronic sinusitis and could be due to poor immunity of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take nasal decongestant sprays, Antihistamines and antibiotic combination as infection is present. Co amoxiclav is best treatment option. You should take steam inhalation. Avoid intake of outside food. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Go for paranasal sinus X ray and get puncture and drainage of sinus if required. You can go for surgical reconstruction of opening after proper prescription. Do warm saline gargles.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
