Suggest Treatment For Persistent Sinus Pain And Irritated Throat

Cannot relieve sinus pain/cracking in face and into throat after 3 weeks. Taking Flonase, Muscinex and off and on a OTC cold & flu medicine. Used the netipot today and didn t break up congestion in face. Taking 2-3 hot showers per day, using humidifier and essential oils. Cough is out of control.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent sinus pain and irritated throat well these symptoms are due to upper respiratory tract infection/ Viral infection . I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day. Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and also take steam twice a day which will be very helpful .Take tepid sponging if it is severe headache. You should take steam inhalation twice a day. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxiclav at least for 10 days along with decongestant.Doctor may order test like swab test , blood test , and viral culture test to rule out condition like acid reflux and strep throat. Maintain proper hygiene and drink plenty of fluids.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
