Suggest Treatment For Persistent Urinary Tract Infection During Pregnancy
I m 10 weeks pregnant and have had urinary tract infections since about week 5. I ve been on 3 courses of antibiotics. First augmentin, then 2 rounds of macrobid. Nothing is clearing it up. Finished antibiotics last night. When I wiped last night, I noticed red blood on the tp although none in the toilet that I could tell. Today every time I wipe there are brown blood clots. I will also mention that I am being treated for a dvt and an taking 100mg of Lovenox for about 3 weeks now. Hoping to get some insight. Thanks!
Hello and welcome to HCM. Your concern is understandable. As an Urologist, i must advise you, that 2 days after your last course of antibiotics, you should get a culture (urine), repeated, with urine routine test. In the meantime, get your gynecologist to do a check-up, and he/she may do an ultrasound scan of abdomen done. Inform the gynecologist about taking Lovenox. With bleeding, it may be stopped. You should get your platelets level checked. Wish you well.
