Suggest Treatment For Persistent Vomiting And Diarrhea In An Infant

Hello. My 15 month old granddaughter was at the ER in Newmarket, Ontario today. She is vomiting, and now has diarrhea. She can t keep anything down and won t take her usual bottle tonight. The hospital said to give her some Gatorade and sent us home. She is sleeping now 2 hours earlier than usual.

Hi ..Can understand your concern..As per your query about vomiting and diarrhoea in 15 month old kid may be due to some reason like infections as they put anything in mouth while playing and crawling or sometimes child develop temporary intolerance to milk..You need not to worry about your grand daughter and I suggest you to give ORS more frequently to assure her hydration.Give her antibiotics like Ofloxacin-ornidazole combination or other by prescription of a paediatric doctor..I advice you to avoid giving milk or dairy product for few days instead give cereal food like moong daal khichdi or curd rice.etc.I hope the information helps you.Take care.
