Suggest Treatment For Persistent Vomiting In An Elderly Person
Dear doc, My father, 63, had a stroke three years before, today when he woke up, he vomited couple of times, I took him to a doctor and after CT scan of brain he fund some spot of blood in brain, my dad has gone very quite all of suden talks very less. He has been taking medicine regularly after his stroke to keep his blood pressure in check but since yesterday he could not control his urine. plz help with ur guidence and suggestions.
Vomiting in an elderly person with history of stroke is related to stroke itself which can be manged by appropriate anti-emetic medications.
Since his CT brain is showing some blood spot in brain is indicative of infarction or hemorrhage which needs medical care under physician or neuro-physician.
Urine problem should be further evaluated by urine examination and cystoscopy but it is likely to be due to neurogenic bladder for which your treating doctor could help you.
So,see your doctor and if required take an opinion from urologist for the respective issue.
