Suggest Treatment For Persistent Wrist Pain And Discomfort Post Injury

I injured my right hand and wrist during a fall 3 weeks ago. The x-Rays were normal. As time goes on the pain is constant in my wrist area, back of my hand, and the side of my hand. I have jarring pain, am having increased difficulty with trying to write, and am have increased difficulty holding or lifting items. I keep my wrist wrapped most of the time, ice it for several minutes at a time and try to keep it elevated. My fingers are not effective much. The doctor just told me it would take time. Is there something else I should do? Am concerned with the increasing difficulty with strength and pain. What should I do?
