Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i had a blackhead looking pimple near to my lip for months. I decided to pop it out few weeks back but couldnt do it properly so left it .It looked a bit red with a hole in a centre. Now after few weeks, its swollen red and is paining.how to treat it now?
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms a pimple like bump can be due to a few common reasons like acne, cold sore [viral infection], or bacterial infection. As you tried to pop it there might be inflammation in that area and a secondary bacterial infection can lead to redness and pain..
Nothing to worry, consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and treatment will depend upon confirmatory diagnosis..
As of now apply a steroid based ointment like 2.5% Hydrocortisone ointment for reducing inflammation and pain.. Do cold compresses over it. Take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for reducing pain and inflammation..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
