Hi there,

Since it has just started, you can try topical creams like benzoyl peroxide or tretinoin cream all over the affected area twice a day. Make sure you wash your face with a mild cleanser twice a day, and then apply the medication. Wait for a few minutes before applying a moisturiser to prevent dryness, which can happen with acne creams.

Eat well and get enough sleep, acne flares can be triggered by stress, hormone imbalances, or even local irritation. Try not to touch your face so often, and avoid make-up if you can. If you must use make-up, use non-comedogenic ones and make sure you remove it thoroughly before going to sleep. Look at whether your hair products are causing the acne too, because they can get on the face and irritate the skin there.

Continue with the creams until the acne clears up, and try to taper down to once a day and see what happens. If it flares up again, you may have to maintain with twice a day creams for a few months before you try tapering down again. If the topical creams don't work, you might have to get help from your local doctor's for some prescription medication.

Hope this helps, and all the best to you.

Regards,
Dr. Teh
