Hello,
I can understand your concern. As you have the habit of keeping mints in mouth for longer periods of time, your cheeks stay in contact with the mints for longer periods during the day.
As the
pimples like swellings are more on the side you keep mint in, it suggests that the lumps are related to that only. The smooth epithelium in side the cheek can become keratinized or hard due to constant friction with an outside substance. As keratin is white in color, the swelling may show white color.
My first advise to you is to leave the habit of chewing mints altogether for now. In addition, you should start taking vitamin B complex supplements such as B-Folcin once a day for about a month. This will help in faster healing. As the friction due to mints will stop, the area, if keratinized, should clear soon. Once it clears, take care to keep the intake of mints to minimum and not overuse it.
However, if the while colored swellings do not dissolve or disappear in about 15 days of discontinuing the mints, you should visit a
dentist for physical examination of the lumps. You might need to go for
biopsy in that case to reach an exact diagnosis and treatment plan.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
