Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter (9 years old) had a small pimple on her nose. She popped it and I guess picked at it for awhile and now (a few days later) it looks much worse and is infected. What is the best treatment? I have been using triple antibiotic ointment and keeping it covered. But that does not seem to be helping at all. It continues to be gooey. Should I keep a bandage off of it?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter has pimple on nose which she picked and it got worse . Well sometimes pimples get infected during picking with contaminated hands . I would suggest you to not to touch it again . Wash it properly , apply cold compresses and leave it open for sometimes . Do not use ant cream on it without prescription . I would suggest you to clean it with betadine , consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( clindamycin)along with vitamin C supplement for quick healing .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
