Suggest Treatment For Pinched Nerve In The Neck And Hand

I believe that I have a pinched nerve. I have pain on the right side at my neck, upper back and down the inner arm to my wrist and last two fingers where they are numb. I do kick boxing and do not sit long periods or do repetitive hand or finger work. I also have a closed nose on the same time that has just started this week. My question is who do I try to see first, a neurologist or a chiropractor for hopefully some relief.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello. This sounds like a herniated disc problem in your neck and you need an MRI of the cervical spine to check for that. Usually it isn't a surgical problem and I would have you see a physiatrist--a physical medicine and rehabilitation MD specialist--for a customized physical therapy treatment program for it
