Suggest Treatment For Pneumonia, Asthma And Headache In Child

hello, my family lived in a moldy home for nearly 10 years, In 2012 Our son at the age of 6 was hospitalized 3 consecutive times with pneumonia, one time his lung collapsed he has recovered but now has asthma. Nearly every time he gets a cold or some other but it seams to flare up his asthma and back to the hospital we go. He has been admitted several times since 2012. Our other son while we were living in the moldy home was having, trouble concentrating, tremors, leg pains, was sick continually with a fever nearly every two to three weeks like clock work, his bother with Asthma was sick just as frequent. they both missed over 30 days of school each year due to having fevers and getting sick. My wife was coughing up black stuff, has had skin sores, trouble concentrating, tingling feelings on her skin and hair. We have seen several doctors but we have not had much improvement. our oldest son don t have as many leg cramps, but still gets frequent headaches. Alex out youngest with Asthma, has a headache nearly every day that makes him lie down until it passes. My wife is still feeling the tingling sensations on her skin and hair and has a lump on her scalp. a neurologist looked at it and did an MRI last year but it all looked clear. We would like to have a Mycologist see us to get a treatment plan the will bring back the health of our family but cannot find any. things have improved but still having trouble concentrating, ect

Hi,

It seems like the air quality is an issue at your residence. The pneumonia will keep on coming back due to molds. Either have mold and spores treated professionally along with dehumidifier and use air purifier with HEPA filtration for the whole house or move out to new construction house with less humidity.

Unless there is change in your air quality in your home, there is no way to deal with recurring pneumonia. Pneumonia will keep occurring till above advice is followed. Moreover, the asthma attacks will also decrease. Remember quality of air is essential for respiratory health.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jay Patel, General & Family Physician
