Suggest Treatment For Pneumonitis, Productive Cough And Cold In Child
our doctor hav decided it is patchy pneumonitis n given treatment for 5days.inj.monthaj(ceftriaxone500mg+inj.tazobactum500mg)3cc iv bid..,inj.amikacin 100mg iv.tid. salbutamol nebulization+oxygen inhalation sos. t.paracetamol 125mg tid, cold sponging, iv fluids DNS 150 ml tid followed by 5days. but still my baby is about 18 months is suffering from productive cough and cold. so WHAT TO DO NOW?

As per your query your child is suffering from pneumonitis, productive cough and cold which is due to chronic infection of upper respiratory tract and long standing lung infection as well. As you have tried all combination of medications and getting not much relief , I would suggest you to visit pediatrician once and get chest X-ray done. You should get pulmonary function test done for your child to known about the extent of infection. after proper evaluation start treatment. Treatment should be symptomatic. Till then give child steam inhalation. Apply humidifiers in room. Give vaporizers rub to child.
