Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
If I have polycystic kidney disease (few cysts, normal creatine test results) and am also taking divalproex ER (generic Depakote) for bipolar II, should I be significantly worried that my Depakote test results might not be accurate? Because I just got through reading rxlist s pharmacokinetics and it said that renal diseases could basically make serum valproate level monitoring not necessarily showing the *actual* level of Depakote/valproate. I have an appointment with an appropriate professional tomorrow, but I m having some symptoms and would like to know tonight if I should add this to the ????? list. Thanks.

Suggest Treatment For Polycystic Kidney Disease
Hello, Polycystic kidney disease does not require treatment in most of the cases. Do a renal function test to assess the functional status of your kidneys. You can safely continue Depakote without any concerns. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
