Suggest Treatment For Polycythemia And Elevated Blood Pressure

My husband has been receiving testosterone therapy for about 8 years. His labs that were drawn in September shows his testosterone at 943 with normal cbc. In March his testosterone at 68 and abnormal cbc showing signs of polycythemia and elevated blood pressure. Should a consult with a Hemotologist be recommended?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Yes, immediate consultation with haematologist is highly recommended as might need to start appropriate therapy.

Bone marrow biopsy should be carried out to determine the right diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
