Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my son has what the doctor thinks is poly myalgia rheumatic although he is a bit too young for this particular disease this is what they are treating him for. he is 46 years old and is on prednisone. we are looking for a particular diet that he may follow. thank you cheryl
Prednisolone is the first drug of choice for PMR however if you want an alternative then I suggest Tab HCQS twice daily. Please discuss with your doctor about my suggestion.
The pain killer depends on the intensity of the pain. I usually give tablet paracetamol for mild pain, if the pain is moderate I suggest tablet aceclofenac, for severe pain I prescribe tab diclofenac or opiod analgesics like tramadol.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein
