I have serratia marscesens in my sinus.I had surgery last year and had masses of thick junk removed. I went in again for additional surgery to get another culture to confirm if serratia is still present. I cannot take levaquin as I had a tendonitis reaction. The plan is to consider IV antibiotic after the culture. I have constant drainage, and get sores on the tip of my noses from the drainage. I also have severe pain in the back of my head. I'm hoping there is an Iv antibiotic that will clear this infection from my sinuses once and for all.Is this an unusual infection?
Hi , this is uncommon infection of the sinus by this bacteria. I suggest you to take iv antibiotics aftrr seeing the culture reports. If it doesn't get cleared by that also thdn get a ct scan done to evaluate vthe status of the sinuses. Chronic sinusitis definetely needes FESS surgery to clear the sinus.
