Suggest Treatment For Prickly Heat On Chest

My husband returned from Rhodes 2 weeks ago and since then has been plagued with what we assume is Prickly Heat on his chest, shoulders etc. He has tried Aqueous Calamine cream but this is not helping at all. Would anything like Hydrocortisone cream or Oilatum cream be suitable to use or should he be taking an Anti-histamine tablet each day? The irritation is particularly bad at nightime when he tries to sleep.

Hi,

It can be viral, allergic or fungal. He should try with candid powder sprinkle on the rash, avoid sweating, take frequent washes to remove sweat, keep the skin dry and clean, use thin cotton clothes. If there is no relief in a week, he may need oral medication (anti-fungal / antiviral) to be decided after local examination by an expert. Consult your family physician to start with, he would offer you treatment or refer you to dermatologist as per need.
