Dear Sir, I am from bangalore. my father aged around 84yrs now is on catherter for almost 1 1/2 yrs. He was admitted for cervical spondysis issue in nov 2009 and since he was not able to pass urine he was cathertised. For the past 4-5 months sometimes he has problem passing urine properly and we used to rush to the nursing home for bladder wash. The problem still persists now also. Can you suggest any medication / remedy for this. Further can you suggest any good doctor in bangalore where we can get 100% results for this problem
Awaiting for a early reply. Regards. YYYY@YYYY
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
There are many reasons for difficulty in passing urine as a prostate problem or others at 84 years of age. Cervical spondylosis does not lead to urine issues.
So for framing out management guidelines for him, I suggest an ultrasound of the abdomen, KUB with prostate size to get the best suggestions.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
