Suggest Treatment For Productive Cough And Breathlessness
Hi, i am 35 years old male suffering from productive cough with occasional breathless for last 2 months. Breathless occurs mostly in indoor and feel itchy in chest. I was smoker for 15 years . Stopped it for last 2 months . I have done cheat X-ray 5 months ago for a different purpose and the finding was normal.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have productive cough and breathlessness which is due to chronic infection of upper respiratory tract and long standing lung infection as well. Sometimes such symptoms can also occur due to allergic reaction . I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist/Rheumatologist once and get chest X-ray done. You should get pulmonary function test done for to know about the extent of infection. after proper evaluation start treatment. Treatment should be symptomatic. Till then give child steam inhalation. Apply humidifiers in room. Give vaporizers rub. . Mast cell stablizers such as sodium cromoglycate is effective to prevent infection. You should avoid hot, sharp , cold beverage and spicy foods.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
