I work in a nursing home with lots of rashes from both staff and residents. Have been treated with kowllada and tetracycline but now three months latter, there is another infestation but home denies it is scabies. All skin scrapings have come back negative in last six mouths but spreading.

One of the most common ones is an allergic reaction or contact dermatitis. It can happen to chemicals, wool, soaps, cosmetics and certain foods can cause itchy skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin . If condition doesn't get well the consult dermatologist to rule out scabies and psoriasis . Doctor may order skin patch test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe hi potency steroids along with vitamin D and anthralin .
