Suggest Treatment For Prolonged And Frequent Urination After Double Bypass Surgery
yes please, my husband is 55. On Dec.4th 2014, he had a dbl by-pass. since the surgery he has been on three additional medications. Prior to surgery or meds he never had issues urinating. now he takes forever to finish his urination and gets up more often through the night.
Byepass surgery and urine problems, do not seems to be related. Only relation can be his tendency to exert less ,during the process of urinating, as post bye pass patients always fear exertion.
However if I were his treating doctor I would have suspected prostate enlargement as first probability and infection in urine as second probability. As prostate enlargement is common after 50 years of age . Possibility of urine infection is there because bye pass surgery reduces immunity.
I would advise following 1 urine examination (microscopy and culture) 2 ultrasound scan of pelvis to look for prostate size, bladder study. Based on this treatment to be decided. You take him to urologist for definitive treatment.
I hope I have clarified your queries. Please write for follow up queries. I wish your husband good health. Kindly provide a feedback. Thank you
