Hello doctor, I m 27 years old and have been suffering from chronic scalp psoriasis for the last 10 years. I ve had relief with betamethasone, had luck with homeopathy and some ayurvedic oils too. But all the benefits have worn off with use and nothing seems to help.I visited many top dermatologists but they gave me a mild shampoo for daily use but its not practically feasible to shampoo daily with this condition. They re like thick plaques all over my scalp and hair. Please suggest some sustainable line of treatment, funds aren t an issue. Thanks a lot
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have psoriasis in scalp . Well it very important to find out the trigger for psoriasis like Infections , sun burn , stress , cold weather , smoking , heavy alcohol consumption and certain medications . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist again for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may prescribe anthralin, antimicrobials , calcipotriene , a strong derivative of vitamin D betamethasone and vitamin A . There are other treatment options a doctor can suggest like ultraviolet light treatment .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
