Suggest Treatment For Psoriasis

I keep on having frequent UTI s, I m 65, at least 3 times a year.. The dr. put me on cipro and it didn t clear up, so I m suppose to start cipro again. probably tomorrow. Problem is I never have any symptoms of UTI, no burning. I also have psoriasis. What should I do if it doesn t clear up again, and is there anything I can take all the time to prevent these UTI s from reoccurring?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Here is my suggestion:
- Next time before starting Cipro, get your urine examined (infection or urinary stones), X-ray or USG as per need
- Get urine culture and sensitivity tests done if advised by a urologist doctor
- Glucose tolerance test is needful to exclude diabetes (which can cause the symptom)

Thus after knowing exact cause, get an advised specific treatment in full advised course. Keeping good genital hygiene. Drinking sufficient water would help. Consult a expert physician and then an expert (in case you are referred to one), a urologist or diabetologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
