Psoriasis causes cells to build up rapidly on the surface of the skin. The extra skin cells form thick, silvery scales and itchy, dry, red patches that are sometimes painful . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor will do physical exam and order skin biopsy along with allergy test . Doctor may prescribe corticosteroids ointment , vitamin D supplement , anthralin that can remove scale , making the skin smoother , calcineurin inhibitors and salicylic acid .
